Board Development Program (BDP)

Is your board looking for ways to improve its effectiveness and efficiency?  If so, you may be interested in the Board Development Program (BDP) of Alberta Culture and Community Spirit.

The BDP provides workshops, resources, consultations and referrals for boards of not-for-profit organizations in Alberta. The workshops are free of charge and are delivered at a location chosen by the board of an organization, and we will travel anywhere. BDP workshops are delivered by volunteer instructors who have experience as board members or senior staff in not-for-profit organizations in Alberta.  They are there to facilitate the workshops and share their experiences to help you and your board.

In partnership with the Muttart Foundation, the BDP has developed 5 self-guided workbooks on governance issues.  These workbooks, along with our 18 Information Bulletins, are great resources that are available on our website www.albertabdp.ca.

The staff at the BDP receive numerous calls each day from board members and staff interested in discussing issues facing their boards.
