Northwest Community Advisory Group
Description
Calgary
City Council has allocated $70 million for the development of a
recreation solution in northwest Calgary. The City has begun the
preliminary work needed to research the recreation needs of the area as
well as to determine a facility site.
A Community Advisory Group
has been established to help review existing research, compile
recommendations, support stakeholder engagement, and advise on aspects
of program development, design and construction of the new facility.
The Northwest Community Advisory Group consists of representation from northwest residents, the Calgary Arts Development Authority and the Calgary Sport Council.
The involvement and support of the Community Advisory Group will ensure
the needs of northwest Calgary are strongly represented and a facility,
that truly enriches the lives of Calgarians, is developed.
The research and plans that are guiding the development of the facility are as follows:
• The Calgary Arts Development Authority's Art Spaces Strategy and Capital Plan
• The 10 Year Strategic Plan for Sport Development and Enhancement
• The Recreation Amenities Gap Analysis Phase I
• The Municipal Sustainability Initiative Guidelines for Recreation Projects
