What Sport Can Do - The True Sport Report

The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport commissioned this report on behalf of the True Sport movement, Canada’s national movement for sport and community. 

This report is to provide the evidence that sport can be a powerful and positive influence in our communities. We want to help communities, policy makers at all levels, business leaders and those in sport, to see the tremendous potential that lies within our community sport system. We hope that they will work together, and come up with new approaches that put this potential to work for Canadians.

The Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in Calgary

Calgary will be the new home for the Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame. The location for this Hall will be at Canada Olympic Park adjacent to the Athletic and Ice Complex which is now under construction. “Calgary is an ideal location for Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame. In addition to our strong sense of volunteerism, philanthropy and entrepreneurial spirit, our city boasts an unrivalled passion for sport, which Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame will benefit greatly from,” said Bob Hamilton, co-chair of this bid.  Click here for more information.

 
Take the Lead Grant
The Take the Lead Grant has been created to help Albertan girls and women become experienced leaders in the sport and recreation fields. Applications have to be submitted by October 31.
