Alberta Sport Development Centre - Calgary Region is hosting a Winning Edge Seminar on Injury Prevention: Debunking Sport Injury Myths. The seminar is open to all athletes, coaches, parents, officials and sport administrators.

Father David Bauer Arena - Space for Lease |

Significant facility commercial property space (approximately 8,394 sq ft of professional office space and 7,500 sq ft of secondary space) is available for lease as a result of Hockey Canada’s recent departure from the Father David Bauer Arena, located at 2424 University Drive NW. Parties interested in leasing the space must fit into the sport continuum for amateur sport development. The closing date for applications is February 17. More.
An additional 2,939 sq ft, ideal for the development of a dry land training area is also available for lease. The closing date is February 24. More.

Event Advisory Committee - Call for Nominations |

The City of Calgary's Event Advisory Committee is requesting volunteers to serve as members on the committee. Applicants must have an interest in the areas of arts and culture, sport, events, tourism, and community animation. The member term is three years beginning March 2012.
The Committee provides guidance to Administration to facilitate the success of the Festival and Event Policy by supporting the program within the community and The City. Closing date for applications is February 17. More.

SAIT Karate Club in partnership with Calgary Counselling Centre and SAIT Recreation, aim to set a New World Record of ‘Most People Breaking a Board a One Time’, while helping to bring a stop to domestic violence. They are seeking 250 volunteer “Breakers” to assist in the world record. More.
